Noz
different sump for sure. aristo is located incorrectly (front or back) and supra won't accomadate for it.
Josh42
Is it just a case of Changin the sump then? Is this a difficult conversion?
viper
so will i need diffrent engine mounts too?
Herb
I think you can reuse the sump of your NA engine. Edited April 23, 2012 by Herb (see edit history)
dr_jekyll
your na mounts and sump will go straight on. you will neeed to drill and tap the plate on ypur sump for the oilreturn. apart from that , a bit of wireing and your away
viper
Cool, is there away of avoiding drilling the sump ie getting a tt sump? Getting a supra tt loome?
Ricardod
I'd recommend drilling the sump as its a fairly easy job and propably cheaper then a TT sump.
Noz
Drilling and tapping a hole isn't very difficult. most machine shops will be able to do this for you as long as they have details of location and thread. EDIT: whifbitz fitted my parts, you could ask to send him your sump and ask him to do it as he knows whats required. Just an idea
EMPEROR
Except from what the others said, depends on how much would you want the Aristo VVTi to look like Supra VVTi engine. Power Steering Pump is different, so is the A/C compressor. Apart from all that, the engine ECU of the Aristo is in the engine bay and not on the passenger footwell, so you will need to do a lot of extending/rewiring. If you want traction, you will have to change the engine ECU, if you change it, you will need to change/add few sensors. Chris Wilson
I can bore out the oil return hole, and drill and tap for the mounting studs if you send me the N/A sump. As Emperor says, be aware the wiring loom for the Aristo engine will NOT allow normal footwell placement of the ecu, and there are a LOT of wires, included shielded ones, to extend. You really need a Supra VVTi engine loom.
viper
ah i see, so what i need is the sump, supra vvti tt engine loome are the power steering pump and air com pump not the same? can i not just use the ones off my NA if thats the case? another thing, someone mentioned vvti is flyby wire throttle? is this true or will my throttle cable from the NA be fine? EMPEROR
Yes it is FBW, your NA throttle cable won't work, you will need new one for VVTi. A/C Pump will be the same as your NA, so you can use that. The power sterring pump is different thou... You can still make custom lines if you want.
Chris Wilson
You can use the N/A pump with a TT pipe flange and a TT reservoir. The wiring loom will be the problem, finding one, that is. Not sure if the ECU's are the same...

EMPEROR
The ECU will work, only you will not have a traction control, but I guess you wouldn't want that anyway.
