NOODLE Posted April 22, 2012 Share Posted April 22, 2012 whats the best induction and exhaust set up for the na, ive already looked at the mvp exhaust manifold and seen a thread on here saying it could foul on the steering rack, im looking at a japspeed cat back with a decat, i just wanna know what the best bore of exhaust is best for the na without losing to much back pressure and has anyone used the injen induction kit because as far as i can see it bolts straight on to a maf meter which mine doesnt seem to have in the same position as the one used in the advert for the kit. any help is apreciated :-) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Type Apiro pipe into ebay and a good few come up. you should be able to build a good intake system for about £60 including a filter. I'm taking my cone filter off though as I'm sure i'm suffering from too much warm air from the engine bay getting sucked in, so I'm going with the factory airbox with an aftermarket element and extra intake cut into the side and ducting extra cold air in from the inner wing blanking plate that the TT's use as an intercooler route along with my baffleless pipework and Crankcase breather venting to air via a small filter. Colin-mkiv Posted April 22, 2012 Share Posted April 22, 2012 76mm I think....just measure the inner diameter of the big rubber connectoron the TB mate., you'll also need an intermediate connector to join the 2 bits of pipe. Get a bend that has a connector on it for your small breather tho.....it requires a 6mm silicone hose. A 2JZ-GTE exhaust on an NA with the cats removed will be very loud, so I'd choose an exhaust that is specifically designed for the 2JZ-GE Supra as these usually have a second silencer box on the mid pipe and have slightly narrower pipe diameter. The MVP website says it's the same as the XERD manifold, the XERD manifold definitely doesn't clear the steering column on a RHD Supra, it clashes on the outer edge where the 6 pipes go into 1, with some heat and a hammer the area can be flattened to give enough clearance. The manifold replaces the stock cast manifolds AND the 1st cat, so it connects up to the 2nd cat/2nd decat pipe. GMan Posted April 26, 2012 Share Posted April 26, 2012 I also use an Injen intake with hks filter and a 3 inch OBX TT exhaust Be warned that this is LOUD, 126db at wot, 99% of the time I drive with the silencer in which lowers the sound well below the 90db legal limit. Nic Posted April 26, 2012 Share Posted April 26, 2012 Pic below shows the exhaust manifold I use to produce which was designed to fit a RHD Supra, you can see on the pic where some manifolds will clash with the steering column. Also check what O2 sensor bosses the MVP manifold uses, the old XERD manifolds used screw in bosses which weren't compatible with the standard 2 bolt O2 sensors. GMan Posted April 26, 2012 Share Posted April 26, 2012 As you can see mine uses screw in type sensors, just make sure they are the right type, single wire sensors, clip the wire from your old ones and use electrical connectors to plug them back in. 4 years on and my aem ugeo shows the car maitians perfect 14.7 at idle and light throttle dipping down to 12.1-13.5 on wot. regardless of which type of manifold you get, the 16year old + sensors might be ready to be replaced anyways Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
