L18msy
I was looking at buying the wife a 57 plate Toyota Auris T180 2.2d, i haven't went through with it yet. I was wondering if anyone here has one or knows of anyone that has one and can tell me if it is a good or bad purchase. Have you heard of any bad experiences? I have had a quick squint at some reviews, but thought i would get an opinion from on here. Thanks in advance for any info.
Abz
Think DodgyRog has brought one for Jen. Also I think Gaz had one for a while as a test car. Hopefully they both see this thread
RobD
Diesels suffer with egr problems, engine problems etc, the rest of the car are usually ok though!
DodgyRog
Jen likes hers, but I can't say anything about reliability, as she has only had it 3 weeks Fuel economy, Jen drive in traffic with a couple of short Dual-Carriageway sprints and she is getting into the low 40's mpg wise doing about 150 miles a week, her Civic Type R was only returning high 20's mpg 30 if she was very careful As for how it drives, it's a good alrounder, not stupid quick, but decent enough, pulls really well from lower revs, it comfortable, the seating position is quite high which Jen likes and the Gear Stick position feels really natural The space inside is very good, Jen's is fully loaded with all the Gadgets including reversing sensors, these are a really good thing to have, as the rear vision is not great We have a 59 Plate which is the SR180, I am not sure what the differences are, but our general conclusion at the moment is it's a nice alround car, but don't buy it for the thought you are going to get great fuel economy, best we had on a Motorway 80mph ish run was high 40's, so not great considering my 13 year old Pug 2.2 TD Estate returns mid 50's on a Motorway run Hope that helps mate
