hogmaw
"M5 driver swerved left to avoid the incoming car" Would you drive 180+mph on the inside lane?!
Stephendjb
"M5 driver swerved left to avoid the incoming car" Would you drive 180+mph on the inside lane?! The only reason they're allowed to drive at speeds like that is because other laws such as lane control are strictly enforced. You aren't overtaking your in the inside lane end of story. I wish the same was applied here it would make motorway journeys far less frustrating. Back on topic, I would never have guessed that had crashed at over a hundred let alone nearly two hundred, that is seriously impressive to survive especially considering a (presumably) unsecured dog was also in the car. creative
Impressive! As someone else said, that cabin looks in good nick! Suppose that's what happens with cars from the future.... It's a 2013 BMW?

I didn't think the lane discipline was law, I've lived over there for 4 yrs, I thought people stayed in the slow lane coz there is only 2 lanes and because it made sense, and if they actually did venture into the fast lane they would have a big BMW or a Merc fly up there arse at 150+ with there high beam and indicator on, and they knew this from it happening every 5 minutes as soon as they hit the autobahn BMW should pay that guy for pretty much testing the cars safety

Dim Sum
It just shows they build a very safe car i guess. But one day i wouldn't mind going to Germany just to get on the autobahn
AJI
I didn't think the lane discipline was law, Yes you're right, its not the law but more that German drivers have much better knowledge and disciplin on why there is more than one lane. BazzaAlpine
Is that some of the barrier inside the car? Poor dog. Hope it doesn't have to be put down
Scooter
Yes you're right, its not the law but more that German drivers have much better knowledge and disciplin on why there is more than one lane. But don't realise the dangers of approaching an on slip road at at least double the speed they could reasonably expect a car to be joining it at? If you are doing that speed on an autobahn then in the 'fast' lane are you ever going to really hold anyone up? Perhaps a mentall 911 turbo owner but even he'll cruise up behind with at most a 20mph closing speed. It would seem to me at that speed that it would be far safer in a lane away from the inside one. pedrosixfour
I thought they (the cars) were limited to 155mph?
