Soopra
I want to transfer the lowly sum of £40 from one account to another but they need to phone me and check...? So I enter my phone number into the website, and what's that? They can't phone it for 7 days as a security precaution... I guess they're not stupid as it means the account will go overdrawn and they can screw me for bank charges...
Swampy442
Im with Lloyds and never have any problems sending money. Try phoning the 24 hour help line, very good in my experience.
Digsy
Is this from one Lloyds account to another? If so you should be able to do a "quick transfer" online or over the phone. I'm guessing you want to transfer into a non-Lloyds account as thats when they usually want to do a verification by phone.

Abz
I am with Lloylds too, great online service. If this is the first time you are using it then they do need to confirm the number.
Paul
Lloyds here too, never had a problem like that and their security measures have saved me from the foreign con men a few times. As said before if it's the first use then they might do this, I know I get a call to get me to confirm some new transfers.

From my wife who works at lloyds if u need anything else pm me. I think if the number on the account isn't verified then it takes 'up to 7 days' as they send you a letter to confirm the number. You just need to go online, they send you the code & then you confirm the number. Once this number is verified and you setup new standing orders etc then they get you to confirm the payment setup by sending the code to your phone. Really good stuff, security aspect is very good with Lloyds. Each time I use my debit card aboard, I get a text advising it has been used aboard and how much & which country!
