Guest Spartan9567
Hi there, Not sure if this is the right board to post this but anyways heres the problem I have a auto 1993 Mk4 Supra that went into limp mode, attempted to diagnose the problem using E1 and T1 terminals but was not able to get error codes :banghead:. Reseted the ECU and the car went out of limp mode but reverted back to it after several misfires, unresponsive throttle response and stalling. Attempted diagnosing the problem again but only noticed high erratic idling 2000-1500rpm while T1, E1 terminals were connected. I suspect its a faulty TPS but can only confirm this when i get a new one, if anyone has any ideas to what the problem may be just message me, Thanks
Chris Wilson
A decent multimeter and the workshop manual for the engine is all you need to check and set the TPS. A scope is nice, but certainly not vital.
Guest Spartan9567
yeah no worries, i'll test it out today and post the results, hopefully its the TPS otherwise this is gonna be really frustrating. Edit 1: Tested out the TPS and found some anomalies, I am still having problems with getting the diagnostic codes from the car i'm going to try get my hands on a handheld scanner and see if that works. The car idles well and responds with TPS removed but is running fuel super rich producing black smoke as a result is unable to be driven economically, i'm guessing this is caused by the absense of the TPS but i'm not to sure so i'll hopefully find out with the new TPS sensor Edit 2: The car is fixed, swapped out the ECU for a new one as i gathered the ECU was the problem due to absent error codes.
