Wonder Wheels - Bristol...any experiences?

Need my Rays refurbished, and spoke to these guys on the phone today. Really good quote of £220 for all four wheels, de-curbed, polished rims, refurbed centre caps and the centres re sprayed satin black.

Now this is a really good price imo, but seem to remember a thread about a company that didnt do a good job, and for some reason this company seems to pop into my head when i think about it, but cant locate the thread.

Anyone used these guys before, and what was the work like, or heard any bad rep about them?

Want to see if I can get a view of the company before I send an expensive and quite rare set of alloys to them.

I don't know about this company but usually a good wheel refurbish cost at least £80 a corner so it does sound cheap.

If you need the alloys acid dipped if you have some rust then it's nearer £100 a corner.

I used a company in Tewksbury ho were very good and my wheels looked like new when they were returned.

To be honest, I really wouldnt know where to start! Plus, as mentioned in the OP, these wheels aren't very common at all, I have the only set I can find mention of in 18"s, and I have been told (not 100%) that this model was made in 15", 16" and 17" for general sale, and the 18" were made for the SARD Racing Team only. Not 100% on this, but if it is the case, then it is a pretty rare set of wheels, so wouldn't want to hurt them lol. Also, to split them and put them together again, i believe they have to be torqued back together or something, to make sure the bolts dont fall out and to meet some kind of regulations?

You've got to wonder how they can do them properly for half of what Ibrar quoted you.

I personally wouldn't take the chance especially if their split rims.

I did my 3 piece Work Equips at Ibrars and i definitely wouldn't want to do them for £55 each as

a paid job.

Have a look on their website, all the wheels they show pictures of in the gallery are

refurbed without removing the tyres

Thats simply not a proper refurb hence the price.

Send yours to Ibrar and get them done properly ;)

Good point, didn't look in the gallery before. Do look like good jobs though, albeit the tyres dont get removed! I'm going to try and find somewhere else i think. Failing that, take the tyres off before I take them to them, as they will be splitting the wheels for spray and dont fancy taking the risk of them doing that with the tyres still on!!!!

I'd actually ask them if they strip the wheels apart, i doubt it for £220 !!

Are yours 2 or 3 piece ? if their 3 piece then you'd need the tyres off to get them

apart.

Ibrar does the whole wheel and not just the face so thats why these are cheap.

Yeah they will be taken apart, already asked that when i got the quote. I originally asked if they could take them apart and i take the centres away to respray them myself, and they guy said as they would have to put them together again for safety reasons, they could spray them for me at no extra cost. I will be ringing them again monday morning to confirm the process they will use, as obviously if they spray them without taking them apart, the studs will be painted too, which would cause nothing but problems further down the line.
