HubCentric Rings

Hey

I have these Spacers

Type:10mm / 5 X 114.3mm=+66

Type:25mm / 5 X 114.3mm=+66w

I got these Hubcentric rings with my Volk Wheels

73mm outter Diameter and 60.1 inner diameter

What Hubcentric rings do I need for the Spacers?

73mm outter Diameter and 66 inner diameter , and bin the Volk Rings?

no they aren't , that are 66 bore though

Hmm, the spacers are going to need to be hubcentric at that size dude (as you will need a lip for your wheel to sit on) & at those sizes there will be no stock lip.

Usually hubcentric spacers sit on your hub via the centre 'ring' & so have a 60.1 inner diameter & a lip of their own with an outer diameter of 60.1 to 'replace' the lip that the spacer uses.

The rings that have come with your wheels sound like adapter rings which change the centre bore from the supra (60.1) to the wheels 73 (as you probably already know)

Need a pic of your spacers really to see what's going on with them / what style they are if you have one dude, from there can suggest what you would need for your wheel / spacer setup :)

Any spacer over 5mm on a Supra requires extended studs as well. No 10mm spacer can have built in studs as 10mm isn't enough material to hold a retained stud safely for mounting a road wheel to. 25mm is big enough to be mounted as an adaptor with it's own 'extra' studs though. A 25 mm adaptor style spacer can be bolted to your original studs and have a set of its own studs, identical in size etc to the cars. If you intend using 10mm spacers, you will need new, extended studs mounted in the hubs to which they will be fitted. As above for the spigot rings though, they are designed to take up the slack in the Centre Bore of a universal fitment spacer. You can buy spacers that have been machined to be a direct fit without the need for spigot rings. One word of advice though, try and find the spigot rings in aluminium, the nylon/plastic ones tend to crumble over time and cease to do the job they were intended for, thus putting all of your forces directly to your wheel studs....this is bad!! :)

Thanks for the Help!

Fronts

Just measured the Bore on the Spacers

Front 10mm Spacers are 66mm Bore , rear 25mm spacers are 73mm Bore ; My Volk GTC face 2 wheels are 73mm bore

So I need hub rings to fit the 73mm Bore of the Volk wheel, if it is possible

Like Jamie mentioned, I would get new spacers - the correct kind for your requirement.

I would get some spigot rings for your alloys that change the centre bore of the alloys to 60.1 first.

Then get some hub centric spacers (with a 60.1 inner and outer bore)

Same style as these for the front:

Hub centric spacer with longer studs which replace your stock studs. Spacer sits on stock lip, but provide a new lip for the alloy to sit on.

And these for the rear:

Hubcentric spacer which bolt onto your existing studs on the rear via nuts provided, then spacer provides new studs which you use to bolt your wheel to the spacer.

Ofc this is just my suggestion to you buddy. :)

- Your current spacers really arnt suitable at all. Are a few threads on here about spacers if you wanna read up on it dude but the cut to the chance of it is that the current spacers will put a lot of pressure on the studs of both the wheels and the spacers and will most likely end up with sheered wheel nuts which obviously is far from good :(

Hope this all makes sense / is useful to you mate.

For the front you need somethin like this slip on spacer, 10mm is far to small for a bolt on spacer, it gives next to no thread for the spacer to clamp to.

I would not use them studs though, use ARP extended wheel studs.

For the rear get a quality bolt on spacer such as the H&R, I would also use ARP studs on the rear to be on the safe side.

I would ask whoever you buy the spacers from to make them 60.1 for your cars hub and 73mm for your volk wheels so you dont have to use spigot rings on top of spacers.

Its still a bodge though even going to them lengths, id sell the wheels and buy others.

Thanks Dan PM sent

Thanks for all the help!!! Currently I am in contact with MVP who are in contact with Project Kics to see what my options are based on what I have.

Originally I ordered the rings off MVP for the spacers but based on the sizes I have it is kinda gone all pear shaped now! MVP are very very helpful so hopefully I will get it sorted soon

New spacers might be on the cards! More $$$$$

I was using these spacers last 5 years so :0 , normally I like to trust companies who deal in wheels and didnt have a clue back then what a spacer was or offsets so expensive lesson

Safety first is my priority ! Shocking a company will sell a customer unsafe hardware

I know I am in good hands with MVP, just means I may have to wait another month to put the car back on the road

all the new Project kics Spacers are hubcentric

I was just hoping to get the hubcentric ring , but I was told by miguel on time of purchase they are not needed

  • 2 weeks later...

Last Q, I have 10mm on the front but I think a 15mm will work better

How can I test a 15mm will fit without issue? I dont have access to 15mm and the H&R rep here said they wont open the packaging on the spacer incase it doesnt fit

I presume just add 5, 1mm washers behind the wheel? and see if she still sits within the arches

Thanks for all the help , going to play it safe and get H&R spacers, they are roughly 240 euro for all 4

I trust you wont be driving the car on said washers? I once did this as a kid when I had my 1st car, a mk2 Escort....my wheels fell off, strangely!!!

Ha ha , no just testing wheel clearence ; car will remain static!

But I reckon see will take another 5mm
