Josh
they want to sell me something that is ment to speed up my computer and really they are going to load spyware on to it dont have a clue where they got my number from Answered a call like this the other day and pretended to be my Dad for a bit. He then took over and laid into the girl (Asian accent, but called Julie) for about 10 minutes and she was contradicting herself and getting very flustered. In the end she hung up
dan294
I'd just answer the phone and start screaming uncontrollably. They'd stop ringing then.

Havard
Sparta made me lol..!! We don't get sales calls anymore as it used to stress me out when I had just got back from work. That said, I have had a bit of fun at their expense when I have let them ramble on for a bit about the product they are selling, butting in with a casual "ooh I need one of those" or a "that sounds brilliant". I then stop them in their tracks and ask "what if I don't want one?". This usually makes them try harder to convince me or get quite irate. Shame. H. Abz
Or do the old, tell me about your product... Leave the phone on the table & carry on, after 5 minutes when they go "Hello, hello.." answer, sorry about that I missed some of that, could you start again please. They normally get the idea then. Shane
If you want to try and limit unsolicited calls register with the TPS: http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/ctps/number_type.html If once active you still get calls then just ask if the caller has heard of the TPS and say that you are registered. They go away very very quickly. However, you do have to re-register every 12 months. One word of caution though, make sure the site you register with is the real TPS, a google search will produce a whole load of imposters eager to take your cash and sell your number. In fact if you are fooled initially and then realise when you get to the end of the process and they are asking you for cash that it is the wrong one....too late, they have your number and know that they have at least 28 days to hassle you even if you immediately go and register with the real TPS. TPS registration is free by the way. My administrator at work registered the CEO's DDI with one of the fake ones and although she realised before completing the process (as they asked for money and she knew that TPS was free) the CEO was bombarded with silly calls for the next month, he wasn't a happy bunny and I had to route all his private calls via his PA for the period which sort of defeats the object of the DDI.
