garetheves
I know in the past fiats have had a bit of a funny reputation but anyone had any recent experience with them. Looking to get a cheap runaround that is cheap to keep/maintain and seen a low mileage 09 bravo that is tempting me.
Josh
My mate had an 07 plate Punto and had nothing but problems with it. He had it about 2 years and it cost him a lot to keep repairing so he had to get rid of it. If you want details on what exactly went wrong (can't really remember, probably 'cause the list was so long), I can ask him for you.
Gaz6002
The answer from me is a resounding 'meh'.

Lbm
Mrs Lbm's '03 Punto has been very good. She's had it since '05. Don't know how this will translate for you Gareth, but thought I'd mention it.
Dnk
Go on Google and search Fiat Bravo faults 09 Should give you a good idea on how good or bad they are
dan294
Common diesel faults, that you get on any of the Fiat / Alfa JTD's: Swirl flaps in the inlet manifold, which the fix for is a modified inlet manifold - costs a fortune. EGR valves sticking 3rd injector wiring loom breaking down - cheap fix and normally only on the 16 valve engines - creates an intermittant misfire. Aside from that, the diesel engines are very good. (I think...)

Shane
My daughter has had 2 Puntos and is now on to a Stilo, I have to say she is a serial car abuser and the Fiats have really stood the test of time. She drove her first one into the back of a mondeo and both cars were write offs, but we rebuilt the front end of hers in a day from bits from the local scrappy for less than £100. Not sure the Stilo would stand up as well, but great runaround car and as economical as hell.
dan294
Cheers for the replies, its a petrol btw That's me out then! No idea about the petrol models, although my mate had a Stilo Abarth and it was spot on! My mum has a brand new 500 and she loves it!
