Colin-mkiv
I use a gasless Clarke jobby, does what I need it to and has done for about 5 years so far.
Iky
Clarke Avoid SIP ones like the plague. I've owned both and the wire feed on the clarkes is far superior. For just basic sheet metal a 90-100 amp will do just fine. I myself own a 160en. A good bit of kit Identical almost to a 151.

Nodalmighty
I had a SIP 150 Turbo and it was a pile of crap. Clark FTW! Lyndon.
tomgeer
I've got one of these: http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=kemppi%20minarc%20180&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CGIQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kemppi.com%2Finet%2Fkemppi%2Fkit.nsf%2F0%2FC94BB94C4486DF03C2257181003BD295%3Fopendocument&ei=6UmQT4XVPM_48QOmytyWBA&usg=AFQjCNGDla-QWHnDyEVEsnC0GOrU18KDgQ Not cheap, but a quality bit of kit if you need something easy to use and reliable.
