pbryant_knight
Well, i put my Veilside wheels on today and the fronts were fine. Got the rears on ok but for some reason the nuts don't seem to go on very far? They do camber in at the tip so is it just me being paranoid when i felt a little unsafe driving it. Heres a quick pic I'm going to take it to revolution to see if i can get some different nuts on saturday but for some reason as the camber lines up ok i think that's as good as i'm going to get? Is it just me being paranoid? Peter
JamieP
That dont look right, i can see more thread on some than others? picture of the back of the wheel? Im wondering if somebody has cut your studs down? picture of the wheel hub/studs an all please.
Josh
Just out of interest, do you have spigot rings fitted?
pbryant_knight
Not got the spigots yet. gonna get them at the weekend. Too dark at the min to get a decent pic of the wheels The stock wheels seemed to fit fine with thwe stock bolts going on further.
JamieP
I dont think the studs are long enough, you can see the hub though the spare holes.
pbryant_knight
Does that mean i'll need new hubs? If so how much is a second hand set likely to cost and are they easy to fit?
Colin-mkiv
Pete, I have the wheelnuts that came off my car with the Kahn wheels fitted, they dont seem to have as much of a shoulder on them. You're very welcome to come and try them mate. I'm only in Chester le Street.
JamieP
No, just a stud change, cant be sure though till you post some more pictures.
merckx
Does that mean i'll need new hubs? No, maybe longer studs. Have you got a picture of the rear of one of the nuts, there's a possibility they don't have a taper?
pbryant_knight
I'll try to get some more pics up soon, weather and light permitting. If it's a stud change, how costly/hard is that to do?

It shouldn't be too costly. Price up the studs and I can do the swap. I have a vice and a big hammer to remove the old ones, new ones are simply tapped into place and then pulled all the way home with a wheel nut on the outer side! pbryant_knight
Ah cheers mate. Appreciate it. I'll pop to Revolution at the weekend first and then see what they say and start pricing up studs.
Colin-mkiv
No bother. Those nuts are here as well anyway buddy.
Miguel
Doesn't look right to me, I'd want more than 50% of the available thread on the nuts holding my wheels on!
pbryant_knight
Could some direct me to where I can get longer studs that will fit the Supra? eBay link perhaps? Cheers Peter

pbryant_knight
Cheers mate. Any in the UK though as I'd like to sort this prob sooner rather than later. Peter
JamieP
Not sure, Titan are super fast if they have them in stock. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?230153-ARP-extended-wheels-studs&p=2954208&viewfull=1#post2954208
pedrosixfour
H&R do extended wheel studs for the Supra too. They were included in their 30mm spacer kit (a 15mm spacer either side) I got a couple of years ago. The part number for the studs is 1254544. They were a great fit in the hub and I haven't had any trouble with them since. I'm nearly sure I ordered the kit online from the UK but I just can't remember who. pbryant_knight
So when it finally stops raining and i have time to take the wheel back off and measure the studs, how far should the stock Studs come out from the Hub in total? (Not total length of stud including the back of them, just how far they come out from the actual hub as this is what i will be measuring). Then l can determine weather mine have been cut down and i just need to replace them with Stock ones or wether i need the longer ones. I don't know why anyone would need to curt the stock ones down though? Peter
pedrosixfour
There should be, as near as makes no difference, 25mm of useable thread showing outside of the brake disk.
pbryant_knight
Well guys. I'm a total dumb ass. I took the wheel off this morning (in the rain) to photograph the studs only to find that there were 2 spacers on each wheel. How the hell I didn't notice these when I put the wheels on in the first place I'll never know. (prob was in such a rush before it rained again). So took the spacers off and all is well. Thanks for all the help though. Peter

Josh
True, but he's still a dumb ass. Lol Can non hubcentric spacers put stress on the studs? Hope they're all okay
