barneybrendan
Whats the best way of removing the stuff from body work.does it come off without damaging the paint work.
wile e coyote
Been speaking to mr sticker about this and he says need to warm it up with hair dryer and peel it off, but if the paint work is a bit suspect it could pull paint, also if they did not use proper vynal for cars then the glue is diferent and can be sronger
skyline1
Hair dryer and patience mate, i had my roof wrapped in black vynl on my old skyline, they ripped it before they finished so they took it off to start again and pulled the paint off aswell....i was well gutted , it was the size of a £20 note! they payed for the damage so i had it spray painted black instead. just be carefull and have patience, thats where they went wrong! peter richards
lots of patience a heat gun and bullet proof fingers this took me two + days , and the customer signs a disclaimer before i start, you can be as carefull as you like , but sometimes if the car has had paint , it sometimes comes off , nothing you can do http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/par96/TJsM3001.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/par96/TJsM3002.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/par96/TJsM3004.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/par96/TJsM3006.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/par96/TJsM3008.jpg
Colin-mkiv
A nice warm day will also help you massively, if the panel is generally warm anyway it will help to soften the glue on the vinyl.
johnny g
I took a load of vinyl off my car with a steamer (steam cleaner variety), and just made sure I warmed it all up and peeled slowly - injecting the steam under the vinyl. Went slowly and it all came off in one piece.
barneybrendan
cheers guys will wait for a dry sunny day then.,
Pig
I would suggest an adjustable heat gun rather than a hair dryer. Does take a lot of time and effort. As aleady stated, if previously bad paint or bad material then you have no hope! Sorry
peter richards
plus a bit of glue and tar remover to clean the residue off after , and if the grafix have been on a while chances are you will need to machine the panel/panels as the surrounding paint will have faded unlike the paint under the grafix which has been protected

SupraP-Z
Steam cleaner mate, i removed vinyl and a full round of illegal tints off someones car with just an ordinary wallpaper stripper...if you take your time over it, it should take all the glue with it too

wile e coyote
Personally I would budget in to have the roof sprayed after just in case
