Guest DesSimpson
Hi guys/gals I've not got a Supra but I just registered today as I spotted a couple of nice ones in Cheltenham and thought it worth a mention (Going to post a spotted thread) I've hankered after one for years but to be honest. I'm a bit scared of the RWD Des
Lbm
Hi and welcome Des. Just take it easy as and when you get one and you'll be fine
ripped_fear
Welcome to the club, A bit of fear for the RWD will serve you well if you take the plunge. Just respect the car for what it is, and invest in decent tyres and you would be fine. Start on an NA and work your way up would be my advise. Guest DesSimpson
I've only ever had one RWD car and that was a Honda S2000. I had it for about 8 months and sold it after the first heavy rain (trip to Scotland) Spiteful, spiteful car!! What sort of power do the NA cars push out? L18msy
They push 220bhp, The n/a's can still bite back sometimes. Take it easy at first and you will be fine. The supra is the first rwd car i've had after a diet of fwd since passing my test. I was a bit wary of it at first but now it isn't a problem. My car is pretty sure footed but in the wet there is a wee bit in the back of my head saying be carefull!

Boge
I jumped straight into the twin turbo, a little sketchy at times but avoid the snow (snow mode is NOT helpful) and you'll be fine
sideexitsupra
I went straight to a BPU Supra from mainly front wheel drive. Fitted Racelogic Traction Control and it tames 400 odd BHP fine.
abtin90
Welcome, despite your fear of RWD cars I'd go for a tt straight away as it wont be long before you start craving more power like most NA owners on here
tkddav3
welcome bud! rwd is fine aslong as you respect the car and dont take the p**s i went from a 2009 mk7 fiesta zs to a 600bhp supra (very silly i know) but aslong as you know your abilities im sure youll be fine
Guest DesSimpson
It's not so much my abilities. It's more the fact I'm a lazy driver I've had 4WD for years and you don't really need to watch out for the back end stepping out. You just put your foot down and go. That said. I don't do a lot of miles nowadays as I've got a little hatchback for the work commute.
Angry Acorn
My first car was a N/A 97 supra and still have it! best decision I ever made! they have power but nothing uncontrollable.....if you a sensible driver
Chucky_waR
Hi and welcome.. I never had a rwd so jumped from an Astra VXR to a 600bhp single turbo. It has bitten me a couple of times but to be honest they are very controllable and very forgiving. Respect the supra when it's wet or when cornering and you will be fine. listy
RWD isn't as bad as you might think. I went from a Gen7 Celica to an N/A, was a little bit wary, but absolutely fine. As others have said, if you're not respectful, it will bite back, but to be honest, it's easily controllable if the ass does step out. Jump in and take the plunge mate. You will only regret it if you dont
