mr lover
Got stopped for speeding on the M4 today, showed me the gun with the dreaded figure 101mph However as I have a clean license and the motorway was pretty clear, dry etc... He gave me a fixed penalty notice, 3 points and £60 fine

mr lover
naughty boy! i thought over 100 and your license went bye bye? Should be court apperance he did say, however he was generous due to reasons he gave me above
Supra Gaz
Lucky, you must of been alright with them, as long as you are not a complete prat you tend to get away with fines.

Swampy442
Lucky indeed for getting off with that, but why would you do that speed on a public road anyway?
Rob
Do you really have to ask that?

Swampy442
Well yes, is not relevant? Do you drive at over 100 on a motorway? I certainly don't because you're just asking for it.
Rob
I've driven way over that speed on a motorway

mr lover
Very lucky Gary. Last time I got pulled I got a couple of tossers. I know mate, as a rule I am very careful to keep under the 100mph hence the close reading I suppose
fastcar
Lucky indeed for getting off with that, but why would you do that speed on a public road anyway? Because that's what the speed limit on a motorway should be anyway. 70MPH was but into force back in the sixty when cars and there remould tyres were not capable of those speed
Josh
I've driven way over that speed on a motorway I normally cruise with the rest of the cars at 80-90mph, but sometimes when there's no one about (or no cars that could be police) it's nice to whack it in 4th and floor it for a few seconds

Guest Nurotix
Good news is 3 points tends to make absolutely no difference to your insurance premium. Didn't they offer you the option of a speed awareness course instead as it's your first offense?! Sometimes as much as it sucks you just have to be polite, apologetic and kiss some ass. I've always been let off in the past. (not been caught doing 101mph though!)
