jonny248 Posted April 11, 2012 Share Posted April 11, 2012 A friend has a Holset HX82 Turbo sat around gathering dust. Have a look on 'You Tube'.... Search for 2500 HP Dyno. Apparently it's the same turbo fitted. He says it's off a diesel engine but doesn't see any reason why it couldn't be adapted to fit something else. There's no play on the bearings and no damage to the intake or exhaust blades. Apparently it was fitted to a 'test cell' and ran for 40mins at 1500rpm. He has something to do with Cummings Engines and they were testing some f****ng big bits of kit, this turbo was one of 4 secondary turbo's being used along with 2 bigger primary turbo's. From what I can gather, something else failed in the process and so they changed all the turbo's. He's going to try and get the oil lines that attach to it and whatever else he can. I think he's starting to get desperate already and wants rid of it as his wife is going mental so the first person to come back with a reasonable offer, even if it's a £200 offer I think he might seriously consider it. As I've got a N/A I've certainly got no use for and wouldn't know where to start..... I was tempted to get it myself as an ornament for the shed.
