Graham1984
Today was a great start when at 6am I checked my bank balance to find out that orange had terminated my phone contract and withdrawn £543 from my bank as that was the remainder of my 2year contract. Is it just me or are phone companies becoming more and more stupid?
ellis
Why had they terminated it? Have you upset them Graham?!!
SupraStar 3000
Orange have a 'no tolerance to extreme sexual fetish sites' rule. Maybe thats related?
AJI
They surely can't take payment unless they provide the service?
stevie_b
If the OP was mid-contract (which he was) then any phone company will take money if that contract is terminated. If that wasn't the case then anyone could take out a £35/month iPhone4 contract and cancel it after 1 month: hey presto, a new iPhone for £35! What we don't know is why Orange terminated the contract. Either admin error on their part, or perhaps the OP did it whilst drunk and can't remember. Havard
We need more details Graham. did you cancel the contract? did you read the T&C's when you started it. I have just got an Orange contract for my daughter for a Galaxy S2. I know that if I cancel the contract it is going to cost me £600 or whatever is left on the deal. H. Holden1989
This is why I chose to ring and pay on a set date, instead of giving them my bank details on a direct debit. It stops them from running riot
Graham1984
Error on there part. I told them to cancel my last contract as I was at the end of my old one a month ago and you have to give them 30days notice otherwise they keep rolling it which is retarded in itself when you have a set 24month contract. A month ago I thought sod it I will stay with them and keep my number ect and a week after getting the new phone and using it it went dead as they had cocked up and just cancelled my phone although I had just started a new contract and even though I sorted that they for some reason have charged me nearly two years in one go so I gave him a few words of my thinking about it and demanded the money back as it turned out I only owed them £26. The guy at orange said they will reimburse me but I will have to wait a months cycle to get back my money so I have called the bank and got an indemnity claim against them and got the whole lot back. Graham1984
Thanks to the bank I have retrieved all the money I was owed except I apparently went over my minutes by 89minutes and they are wanting near on £40 extra on top of my monthly bill which frankly after making me default on my overdraft limit and costing me £35 for I think they can go jump for that one. The ironic thing is is that I just upgraded my minutes each month by 200 and it costs £5 extra so there figure of £40 is ludicrous for 89 minutes. If so I imagine they will get that £40 back next time. H.
Graham1984
Yep I still have a contract with them pending when their system updates and they call me back tomorrow, I think they are just taking the pee and quite frankly pending their call to me tomorrow if we don't come to an agreeable solution on the money owed after all this aggravation I will cancel the direct debit and send them the phone back to ram where the sun doesn't shine.
