I got some GTechniq C5 wheel armour which was recommended by stonkin on here, very good stuff. I also use poorboys wheel sealant, I find it the easiest to work with. Had my pot for over 2 years not and only used half Thanks for your reply and all the links, I find the Gtechnique c5 wheel armour is quite an expensive wheel care product, i will order a small one of these, and will get one of those poor buys and chemical guys sealants too. TubbyTwo
C5 is expensive yes, but considering a single application can last a year its got to be worth a look.
Josh
I bought Poorboys wheel sealant (it smells like tutti frutti ), but all ready, even though I wipe the rims once a week, there are little marks on them. I think I need to polish and seal them once a week too.
Colin-mkiv
Autoglym metal polish on my one polished rim, I took the laquer off it due to there being lots of water ingress/crazing underneath it. I polished it back up with a scotchbrite pad and then vigorous polishing with the Autoglym and its come up like a mirror. I had expected it to corrode again by now but it hasn't and I did it a month ago! (The rest of my rims are diamond cut and laquered still and they're shown up now by the shinier one)
TubbyTwo
Polished rims are a nightmare to keep clean, especially if they are unlacquered.

Mario
Polished rims are a nightmare to keep clean, especially if they are unlacquered. Can't agree more with you, they're a nightmare. Just ordered these three GTechniq wheel care products, one bottle of P1 nanocomposite polish one small bottle of C5 wheel armour and one fp1 tri-foam polish pad. Will order one pot of the poor boys too next week, how often do I use the poor boys then, after I used the above three in the right order. Josh
Are the rims sealed? They are just polished with wheel sealant on them. Ibrar said that's what he'd done once they were refurbed so I've been doing that with the Poorboys sealant too.

See how you go with the C5 before ordering another wheel sealant. The key is good prepwork, good wash, de-tar, and wipe down with IPA. Its amazing stuff, put it on the wifes focus alloys and all that was needed was a blast with the PW to bring them back to standard. The water beading was still going strong 7 months after application
Samurai 20V
Keep them in a climate controlled garage and never take them outside. Mine are in my spare bedroom at the moment... SSR recommended I use only detail spray on the lips of my wheels, as its anodised aluminium... For the painted portions I use Smartwax Rimwax... Stonkin
The C5 will be exactly what your after Mario, it's a great product. But as TubbyTwo said, you need to prep the wheels very well to get the best out of it or it wont bond properly. Dont bother ordering the poorboys with this applied, you wont need it at all

Dont bother ordering the poorboys with this applied, you wont need it at all Thanks Stonkin, just received the two bottles and pad from the delivery guy, the Gtechniq c5 is only like 15ml or so, it's a very small tiny bottle, will see if I can do all 4 rims with this little is it just whipe in with the delivered pad and whipe off with an MF towel? Need to order some more car care products before I can apply as I don't have a CarPro eraser for example, to undo the rims from contaminents. TubbyTwo
Get yourself a bottle of IPA mate should be able to find them at local shops or a pharmacy its all you need. like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ISOPROPANOL-Isopropyl-Alcohol-99-9-250ml/dp/B003D8QFQO then dilute it to suite your needs. Also with the C5 a little goes a long way, few drops on a lint free pad (probably what they sent you) will go along way. There are instructions on the Gtechniq website
Mario
If it it will remove any left overs of brake dust and other contaminents I'll use just that, thanks for the tip!
