Kayaking/Canoeing - Who Else Does It?

So, I think I have found a new hobby :D

Went out canoeing yesterday, it was hammering down with rain (not the best weather), me and the other half went out on a double canoe down the Thames from Tilehurst (reading) to pangbourne which is roughly 3.5 miles upstream to the pub where we enjoyed a few alcoholic beverages and a log fire before the 3.5 miles back.

Who else does it regularly? It was great fun, knackering though and at times it was a little testing on the relationship front (my plans to not be seen paddling were shunned when I was put at the front of the boat :(

Can anyone recommend any scenic river routes in the UK? We will probably do that stretch of the Thames again then the Hereford part of the river Wye, hopefully routes to include great scenery and of course a good pub (or four) :D

A few pics....

I love kayaking! :D My dad bought a 2 man kayak for the guests to use at our old guest house, but I made him take it with him when they moved!

Scottish lochs are perfect for it ;)

Scotland was one of the places I was thinking of actually, I have been wanting to go for ages and Kayaking might be the way to go! Are the rivers in Scotland not a bit brutal though? I might have to work up to it, the websites I have looked at advertise 'white water rafting' etc, that might be a bit hair raising :scare:
