imi
Normally I use a Car shampoo with a pressure washer and the results are very good, with the pointless hose pipe ban are there any better "shampoos" or products that one can use in order to help keep the car clean easily? Littler
Optimum No Rinse is what you need: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sample-sizes/optimum-no-rinse-8oz/prod_774.html This product I use when I need to do a waterless wash (like at shows) and the results when done properly are swirl/scratch free (otherwise I wouldn't use it lol)

Littler
interesting. so you wash the car with this without rinsing the dirt off first; there is no risk of scratches? The polymer make up and the lubricants within the product when at the correct dilution ratio allows the dirt to be wiped off without any scratches/swirls, I have used this quite a few times with great results But I would say not to use this method if your car is really really dirty, I wouldn't recommend this say on a daily driver. Here's a guide on how to use it: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=138013 Hope that helps

Littler
What would you recommend for a daily driver? I'd say for a daily it's actually better to sometimes leave it dirty until you can clean it properly as it can cause scratches etc, but like I did the last time we had a ban I got a bucket of really soapy water from the kitchen tap and poured it over the car as the soap and warm water frees up a lot of the dirt without the need for touching the paint Then you may be able to use ONR effectively been reading the thread that you pointed me too - and I thought cleaning a car was supposed to be simple quite keen on trying this ONR stuff....will give it a try - on my wife's car Nope its not simple lol, but it's not a bad thing testing it on a car that's not yours lol

sams
Bucket and a sponge. this is best methord if you fill the bucket from a tap you cant be fined. same as a watering can these can be used with out breaking the ban as long as it filled from a tap
CarlT67
I'd go to a local garage with a pressure washer bay and pressure wash all the heavy deposits off first, drive back really quick so it's still wet. Then two bucket method wash the car. Not sure how to rinse it though...
