selling a registration plate

Hi all, just need some advice.

 

Thinking of selling the supe later this year and the plate that came with it ends in WOW. So thinking this may be worth something and might get more buy selling the plate and car separate.

 

The plate on the car at the moment is private, it just came with the car. My question is this.

 

1) Can i buy a cheap private plate and transfer it onto the supe, and then sell the existing number plate ending in WOW for more money?

 

any ideas on this appreciated as the DVLA site doesn't have an answer

A cheap plate will cost you £200 anyway, plus to put the current plate on retention (to sell it), it will cost £120, then to change to the cheaper plate you brought another £80.

 

Plus it depends how desirable the plate is, the less letters the more expensive.
