Lbm
I enjoyed using the Panasonic FZ28 I think the updated versions are the FZ45 & FZ100. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Lumix-14-1MP-Digital-Camera/dp/B003WOKU4W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1333639188&sr=8-
Lbm
There's also this. It's a little bit over budget but worth a look and a Google price search. It's more compact, which your good lady might enjoy. And it's newer too. I'm not sure if it does 30 fps movie capture, but does do 25 fps. Any reason why you want 30 fps? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-DMC-TZ30EB-K-Compact-Camera-Optical/dp/tech-data/B0073CD6AE/ref=de_a_smtd or there is this for 100 sheets less: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Lumix-TZ20-Digital-Camera/dp/tech-data/B004I1KOIK/ref=de_a_smtd I don't work for Pany by the way. Just enjoyed the FZ28 a few years ago.

Mario
Used to have an Olympus E420 which uses DSLR technology I now use the new Olympus E-PM1 which is an very compact system camera which also uses DSLR, Full HD filming capabilities in 720p and 1080p, 12MP 3"lcd 12800 ISO and lots of more tasty options. Really happy with it and the auto focus is amazingly fast, not comparable to the old regular canon D450 D500 series or Olympus E series. As for the 30fps o the filming side of things, i was really just putting out my thoughts, guess i will never really need even 25fps as 24fps is the norm for film.
