Alloy Wheels under Warranty repair or replace? - What dya reckon?

So less than a year of owning my 09 Q7 the wheels have started to corrode from the inside, the cars under Audi warranty - after much debate Audi are saying they will pay for them to be refurbished fully.

 

Do you guys think I should settle for that or push for a brand new set of wheels?

I'd push for new.

 

My grandads mate had a similar thing happen on his Lexus a few years ago, he'd had it from new but was around 5 years old iirc. The Service manager brought up the state of the alloys in conversation, and swapped them for new.

 

Unless you fancy a change of colour...

Must just be me then, but new ones are likely to do the exact same in 3 years or so. Without chance of a warranty swap.

 

Powder coated will also probably do the same :)

 

I'd be asking the question of the Audi dealer on where you'd stand going either route.
