j_jza80
I'd say no, it looks like it's been repeatedly repaired as it is. Shame as they're nice wheels, and quite strong too.

ellis
Surely that's just an accident waiting to happen? Can you not get another and cash that in for scrap?
j_jza80
can be repaired no prob but why does it have so many small fractures??either the wheel has a bad buckle or its been poorly repaired before i would say. Because its beyond repair. By the looks of it, it's had a really bad smack at some point, it's been repaired but the wheel was fractured around much of the rim. It will always be weak, so is not suitable for repair IMO. I've been through this a few times, he would be much better sourcing an extra wheel. The alternative is a tyre blow out when the repair fails. This has happened to me, and I was very fortunate to be able to recover the car from a 90mph tank slapper. Supra Gaz
Ibrar is on his much earned hols. The wheel looks repairable but as has been said it looks like it has been repaired a few times before. What have you been doing? How did the damage happen?
Colin-mkiv
It can be repaired no problem, but, with 5 visible cracks (inc the repairs) and possibility of more that aren't immediately obvious, I wouldn't risk using it even after welding etc. I used to buy/repair/refurbish and sell alloy wheels as my own business. I have binned wheels that were in better condition due to not being willing to take the risk of having a comeback or, worst case, a death on my conscience. Dnk
Ibrar is away and due to it being the Easter weekend this weekend will be back at work on tuesday. You'd be shocked just how many rims have cracks on the inner lip just like this one and there not on old battered rims either. Personally i dont like rims that are welded but it can be done, my concern would be the cracks you can't see and unless the rim is crack tested you wont know. ibby
Thanks for the information guys. I have purchased 4 wheels 2 8" and 2 at 10"
SteveR
What profile are the rubber bands in that photo?? Perhaps the lack of any tyre to cushion the rim from potholes, etc, helps to explain the amount of damage!
ibby
I am sure hes using 265x 35 x18
