a late manual RZ with all the bits - lovely(even though its black and not RSP)and it even has a strut brace which TRD said themselves could not be fitted under a TRD bonnet! seems it can!!

Was just about to post about that! Don had the trd brace on his blue Supra , I tried the TRD strut brace on my TRD and it did not fit!

My car was too wide(strut to strut) It was a good few mm off, the width of the strut brace was not long enough

Some TLC the car has potential

Its a 1999 car so over 10 years old so just needs an MOT (+foglight) for registration. Registration fee is around £55 and you need to buy a tax disc. Shipping is around US$900 plus insurance at 2% of the car value. Import duty is 10% and VAT on the compunded amount of 20%. Japan side woudl be de-registration, transport to port, Japanese customs and the dealer would also charge a fee and probably try for Japan sales tax 5% even though it is being exported. Then its just a matter of speaking to the dealer in Japanese and finding a Japanese customs agent and shipper.

is the owner of the blue one a member?would be good too see how its looking

I imagine it looks kack as I am not driving it. Not that I would have driven it much if I owned a car with 7K miles on the clock.

thats a good deal... incoming pm from mr H? :p

I have the money, but I am looking to move house so I can't see it being a goer.

If anyone really wants it I can get one of my guys to go over and have a look and get it to the port....

Are you an importer then?

No, I was an exporter (Japan based) for 8 years, we sold to the auctions and dealers in the UK, Oz, S. Africa etc not really to end users. I moved back in 2007 but still have the infrastructure in place (and still have my auction licences). I have been sending cars to Japan more recently as the exchange rate works better that way these days..

I will be back in Japan for a month later this year so if there is a shopping list happy to do what I can. I will be buying some cars to bring back anyway, probably an RX, couple of EVO's...

That dont sound good, im guessing your car must have been in a pretty serious crash for the struts to be further apart?

Car was never in a crash, you would see the repair if it was (as you said it would have to be a big shunt to do that) and I am sure the Supra Specialists/ mechanics would of asked me or commented.

I am not too sure if you can adjust the TRD strut but it was only a little off, we didnt try too hard to get it to fit , it was raining, dark and freezing out; I am sure with a little juggle it would fit. I might of made the mistake of putting one side on first; you might need to put the two sides down on the struts in tandem ,It is over five years ago but I do remember it was a very tight fit! But I was not too concerned about getting the struts to bolt up, but more concerned about bonnet clearence.

I had the strut bar sitting on the spark plug cover, I know it is suppose to be a few mm above but it highlighted suspected main issue; bonnet clearance. You might get away with a thinner bar, like one of the carbing strut braces

I have seen a few pictures of TRD cars with the TRD strut fitted , was always confused why the TRD website said it does not fit was just lucky enough to be able to try it before I bought one.
