Which Headlight Lenses

I know this might be a bit basic - but it would really help me to know (and hopefully others also), what headlight lenses will fit in a pre-facelift jspec?

I could go for straight replacements and hope that they don't go yellow too quickly and have no wiring issues or can I fit UK spec glass lenses? This is the bit that bothers me because I thought that they were a different shape, but on a previous thread someone posted that glass lenses could be used on a pre-facelift jspec.

This difference in price is not that huge and I know that glass will always look better. Am I right in saying that UK lenses do not have the side light, and if so how should I adapt the wiring?

I am clued up on bulbs though thanks to the thread in the FAQ section and am ready to attack them with the dremel if needed.

any of the lights (pre/post facelift and UK) will fit pre/post facelift cars with no alteration. The UK lights DO have the side lights. Its only the Post Facelift lights that dont. Personally I'd always go for the UK's as there glass, and will never go yellow.

Are you talking about just the lenses or the complete headlight unit?

The lenses are bonded to the headlight housing and are not sold separately by Toyota, you can split the lenses from the housing to clean them by heating in the oven. UK glass lenses are a different shape/fit to the J-spec plastic lenses, so will not fit the J-spec housing and visa versa.

Any complete headlight unit can be fitted on any JZA80 Supra model/year.

Just go for the UK glass headlights from Whifbitz... I did and fitted them last weekend with no issues at all, straight exchange (be careful with the bulb types, they are different). Absolute transformation, totally recommended.

On a side issue - yellowed plastic lenses can be restored quite easily and very cheaply. Brasso on the lens will restore the lens clarity to probably about 90% of original and follow it up with a normal polish. I tried this on the original light units I had replaced but kept and one was very yellow but came up looking clear again.
