ryan202
is there a guide of how to fit and set up a adjustable fuel pressure regulator anywhere?
Wez
Any reason you are changing it?

Wez
Have you already fitted an ECU or fuel controller?
ryan202
not yet ecu was the step after
Wez
not yet ecu was the step after I take it you were not planning on using the car then? If you are planning to continue using the car you should install the fuel controller, injectors and fuel regulator at the same time, without any means to trim the fueling the car will run too rich. Are you planning to use direct replacement drop-in injectors with the stock rail? What are you power aims, which turbo and kit are looking at? Is your car auto or manual, if manual what clutch have you gone for? What suspension and brake set-up do you have?
ryan202
i was planning to use the car. i was going to get top feed injectors high flow fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator. then get a syvecs ecu and set up by 2bartunning. it is a auto and i have just bought and in the process of installing a high stall torque converter. was aiming about 540bhp with the standard auto box and fuel lines then upgrade the box and fuel lines then about 650bhp. Wez
The car will be over fueling if you install the injectors before you have a way to trim them, you could pull it back a little using the fuel regulator but I wouldn't go about it this way, it has bodge job written all over it. For the power your aiming at I would go for Power Enterprise drop-in injectors, no need for a fuel reg or new rail, get a decent pump and a fuel pulsation bypass line. You really want the ECU and injectors installed together, if this is not feasible then get the ECU installed first and then have the map trimmed once the larger injectors are installed. ryan202
so i could get ecu get it set up. then drop my injectors then go for another remap would this be ok. would i not need top feed rail and regulator and lines to run over 550bhp. thanks for all your help and input on this matter
Wez
so i could get ecu get it set up. then drop my injectors then go for another remap would this be ok. You could have the map tweaked for the new injectors yes plus any other changes you may make like cams etc. would i not need top feed rail and regulator and lines to run over 550bhp. Depends how much over 550hp you go, there are cars on here running 650hp on stock lines and regs, mine made 590 with stock reg, fuel pulsation dampner still installed, stock lines, stock rail, PE 650cc injectors and a Bosch 044 pump but my injector duty was very high. PE also do some 800cc drop-ins that would be a much better choice.
ryan202
i plan on 550 untill i change the box then 650 can u advise me on the pump and injectors you would use. what is the fuel pulsation dampner and is that a factor item.

Wez
If the Bosch 044 is a little too noisy or expensive the Walbro pumps have been known to support up to 650hp but again check with Ryan and Paul
ryan202
are the stock j spec injectors not side feed. all the ones on the garage whifbitz site are top feed.
Wez
are the stock j spec injectors not side feed. all the ones on the garage whifbitz site are top feed. You can get either but yes the stock rail is side feed so get some drop-in injectors like SARD or Power Enterprise If you change the rail you will also need a reg and possible lines, all of which will put the cost up. ryan202
so the sard ones on garage whifbitz are either side or top feed you can choose. the ones in the pic look like top feed. where can i get the power enterprise ones from. thanks ryan
Wez
Reading Pauls website it says the SARD are direct replacements for stock rail so would be side feed. He may be able to source Power Enterprise injectors as well. http://power-enterprise.co.jp/english/injector/index.htm
Paul Whiffin
Sard side feed injectors are very good, unfortunately I dont stock them these days as I rarely sell them. I sell loads of my own top feed injector kits as there isn't much in it price wise and your getting a better setup. Fuel rail kit with ID1000cc injectors would be perfect, in stock if needed. Thanks Paul
