Ian W
Another vote for the Samsung here. I bought a smaller, non-3D version and have to say it's brilliant
Thorin
You should be looking at Panasonic plasma's. I've still yet to see an LCD/LED to better a good plasma.
j_jza80
You should be looking at Panasonic plasma's. I've still yet to see an LCD/LED to better a good plasma. My Samsung LED trounced everything else in the Comet store when I purchased mine (1 year ago). It stood out a mile because of the brightness and clarity. People are still shocked by how good it is. It did cost £1500 a year ago though, and it's 48" It's a smart TV, but the web browsing is crap. The YouTube app is good though. 3D looks amazing on it, I'd seriously recommend buying a PS3 and Uncharted: Drakes deception to play on it. My new Sony Xperia S phone and my Girlfreinds Samsung S2 can wirelessly stream photos, games and videos to the screen too

Brightness is the one thing LCD/LED have going for it, and if you're watching TV in bright sunlight then that's an advantage. Having better blacks and response times on plasma screens outweigh that IMO, but no doubt it's a good TV.

Wall mounting a plasma is a serious PITA. Also, my TV is near a fireplace and a plasma would seriously object to this Every type of TV is a compromise, but from a practical point of view LEDs are untouchable.
