Lacoste82
Hey guys, im currently on the lookout for 2 new O2 sensors, for my Jap spec. N/a 1993 mkiv. Im only able to find them at my Toyta dealership, but the price is way off, so they remain the last option for now! I really hope u guys can help me! What ive been able to find on ebay so far, doesnt look like the ones that are currently mounted in mine, as the ones ive found, lack the mounting plate + plus they have another connection port, mine only has one pin in the connector! Thx in advance!

Lacoste82
This i s hilarious, i finally got the org. part number 8946519615, called sparkplugs, they couldnt find an aftermarket or OEM like match, other retailers couldnt either, Ofc. Toyota can, but at a very high cost. All they can find is the O2 sensors with 4 wires, mine only has 1 cord,(with 2 wires in it) - Can it realy be, that there arent any aftermarket to get, for this model - And do all of u with Jap spec. mkiv`s buy at Toyota!? thomo8568
Hi They do them on eBay. But they are bosh not denso. still over £50 each. Item number 120787028004 I'm in need of sum but still looking for some cheaper ones. Let me know if you find anywhere that does them cheap I'm even thinking of making up a boss so I can use universal screew in ones as there only £10. Would have thought by now that someone would do a boss to do it.
djg99
I've just ordered mine from spark plugs.co.uk on Friday after reading several threads on the subject, it also tells you what the model numbers are, had email today to say they've sent it out :-)
Graham1984
Rock auto in America deliver two o2 sensors for a NA for £80 delivered if I remember right and were the cheapest.
straightsix
I've got a pair of used ones for sale if they're needed
Lacoste82
Great response, thx alot! Seems that Rock auto has the ones i need. just gotta be sure to get 2 that match the sockets, as the small clips are set at different side one left, other right, so they look identicall at first, but arent, "Idiot proof plug and play" :0) Well, atleast i think that what was i found out today, when cleaning and reinstalling the 2 O2 sensors - Do u guys know if its like that on your jap specs!? Thx again!
Graham1984
My NA takes the push fit o2 over the newer screw in type. Somewhere it had the part number in one of the old threads about 02 sensors and rock auto ect.
Colin-mkiv
I've got a pair of used ones for sale if they're needed Are yours the ones on Ebay mate (150790452463)? I need one too, but my NA also has 2 in the actual manifold as well, one each half.
Chris Wilson
In my experience the genuine Toyota O2 sensors seem to work better with a faster response time than most generic ones. I used to be able to get a Bosch sensor that was indistinguishable from the OE ones, and worked perfectly, giving similar voltage level changes and response times to OE ones, but supply has dried up. If you can stomach the price the OE sensors are probably worth the extra if you do a lot of miles and intend keeping the car. You need to be sure that the original sensors are actually playing up, and for that they need checking with an oscilloscope. You may well find even elderly ones are still working fine. Just changing them in the hope they fix poor MPG or other issues is madness. I had a customer a bit ago who actually bought and fitted two separate new OE Toyota sensors as a local garage said his poor MPG must be down to a faulty O2 sensor, and persisted when a new one failed to make any difference, suggesting he bought ANOTHER one!! His issue was seized up brake calipers. The poor old engine thought the cars was permanently going up a hill... 10 minutes with the `scope would have shown any of the three sensors he now owned were perfectly OK. Colin-mkiv
I know mine needs replacing, the actual flange that mounts to the exhaust has a crack in it and gasses are escaping via it.
Lacoste82
Ive checked the calipers, they are in perfect working order - But other than that, im not sure its the o2 sensors either, reason is, that ive done the trick with a voltmeter, plus pin to OX1 on diagnostics port, and minus pin på minus on battery, did this with the "old sensors" sensors mounted, and with a pair of used ones i had from another engine - But in both cases i got no fluctúation on the voltmeter, that i should otherwise get? But ive ordered the o2 sensors anyhow, the price of 2 from rock auto was reasonable and it cant hurt to change em, its OE part, the genuine Denso that Toyota use. But ive come to think if it could have something to do with the mapsensor, ECU or some other part of the electrical system controlling Air/fuel ratio!? Im worried that i got no response from the voltmeter test, using 2 different pair of sensors!
Chris Wilson
Is there a heater feed to the sensors? You really need an analogue gauge to see the fluctuations properly, or ideally a scope. Just Google O2 sensor testing, there's a rook of stuff on it out there.
