Also how the hell do you get power to them?
carl0s
I like the look of the second one (Swoosh). It says it's Electronic too which means you don't have to run vac hoses into the dash - the sensor can sit in the engine bay. It is 60mm though so unless you have a gauge pod, it'll have to go in place of an air-vent (the clock is 52mm).
Clarkey
DEFI gauges are great - but not only will you need the gauge but also the control box to wire them up to.
Ian R
I'd go for Defi's you will only regret it if you don't
JohnA
What's wrong with Autometer?
Soonto_HAS_soop
What's wrong with Autometer? Autometer make the AEM gauge I believe, so should be pretty good as long as you don't buy the base model variant. Also, my facelift clock size holds a 60mm gauge, not a 52mm. Bob
I was on a drunken ebay spending spree the other night Bought one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7989565781&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=
D3xt3r
Those new Blitz ones look really nice but not as good as the DEFIs I think. But they are a fair bit less so I cant really decide on what to get.
DamanC
What do you recon to the blitz one bob?
attilauk
What's wrong with Autometer? Autometer gauges are brilliant but those are Autogauge... i have the smoke series Autogauge boost and egt gauges ready to put in my car, the build quality of them is superb! Suprasteve
i bought the 1st one. I fitted it where the clock was. i think they're good for the money and work ok. Although it doesn't settle on zero when the engine is turned off, but does if you tap it ?!? Also you have to have the head lights/side lights on in order to see it as its too dark, apart from that i'm happy with it. the tube you get with it is just about long enough so you must find the most direct route or it want reach! nickyboy
Also after boost gauge. Does anyone know if the blitz ac ones http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/2003/gauges.html are mechanical or electronic?
DamanC
ok i think im gonna get the swoosh one unless im talked out of it mechanical gauges i can just about handle, electric ones.......how the hell do you rig them up? please say its easier than a mechanical one
D3xt3r
Little pocket thing you place near the line you tap and from there you just run a little cable to the box or the gauge. Much easier then on mechanical ones. I favor DEFI myself after I have seen most of the gauges out there.
DamanC
arghghghghgh i really want the deffi ones, but they are a hell of alot of money
ivan
How are the stock facelift ones connected - are they mechanical or electrical? I sooo need to replace mine with something that tells me more than "+"
DamanC
ok im gonna get the deffi ones. One more question - if was to get a boost controller in the future would i still be able to keep the boost gauge funtional. im guessing yes edit to add - boost controllers are about £300 right? would it be logical to just get a swanky boost controller instead? D3xt3r
You will love the DEFIs I have sold some sets of BF and the Link ones and everybody loved it. What do you mean with boost controller functional? The cheapest electronic controllers currently are the Greddy ProfecB & Blitz Spec S both cost around 250pounds. Clarkey
Good choice! Don't forget the DEFI controller II unit .. otherwise the DEFI gauges won't work.

Clarkey
One of these might be handy too http://www.osduk.com/kc/toyota/celica_supra/celica.htm I bought mine from there £55 + p&p .. fits v.well. Though, you do have to cut the gauges out of the f/g & drill a hole in the pillar pod to get to attach properly ... but when it's all sorted ... it looks like neat.
