Chris Bailey
The supra needs a new exhaust and i was just wondering whats everyone's opinion on the HKS Silent and the Whifbitz titanium exhaust?
Supra N_A
Hks silent hi power is a beast mate I have it on mine quality and fitment is sweet! Have not used whiftbitz system but they seem decent as well and look very similar.

caseys
I have had an HKS Silent Hi-Power and I agree the fitment was fantastic. Didn't drone at all I now have a whifbitz twin box system (on a single) and the quality is good
Chris Bailey
Im looking on behalf of my dad - He has a J-Spec TT, I love the look of the HKS Silent i like the way it sits but also like the whifbitz one.
caseys
Well the benefits with the whifbitz one and your location you could go and get it fitted right there and good service off Mr W! I only had the HKS on an N/A, with cats still in. Your dad at BPU or without cats?
suprab
i found the HKS really good fitment wise but not very silent!!
Chris Bailey
Yeah it's fully BPU but our current exhaust is only 2.5inch so its restricting the power at the top end. So looking for a 3inch to free the extra horses Is it possible to have a 4" on a bpu?

So looking for a 3inch to free the extra horses Is it possible to have a 4" on a bpu? I looked into it before, and you'd obviously need a RR on there, so I'm not sure if that would affect the sound enough to not bother fitting a 4" in the first place. See if you can persuade him to go single
Chris Bailey
It's currently at Whifbitz having a full engine rebuild - I'd love for my dad to go single but as always its about the money and its not cheap when you have to start adding the turbo, manifold, ecu etc etc. Back on topic the current exhaust has a 1.2 rr on it already just wondered if you could go 4"

How much is it to go single including all the mapping etc? Ive heard around 10k is unheard off. On a budget it's under, but a reasonable/good setup extremely cutdown price Manifold + turbo kit - £4.5k Fuelling - £1k ECU & wiring £1800 Mapping - £500 Other bits (ignition, exhaust, downpipe/midpipe, hoses, fittings, contingency money) £1-2k Labour £2k+ Many have done it cheaper, many have done it a lil bit more expensive. It's not something to do on a whim!
Chris Bailey
Even if my dad did want to go single eventually it would'nt be big bhp - probs be looking for around 550-650bhp max. So would it still cost around the same?
Chris Bailey
This turbo kit looks nice - does that come with everything you need to go single? http://whifbitzperformancetuning.co.uk/toyota-supra-supra-turbo-upgrades-turbo-kits-garage-whifbitz-p-2208.html

I have that kit bar a different turbo. You then need the rest of the bits in my list, and more. If you want a good idea of what's needed to go single and how many people have done it I would advice spending a few hours reading through the Project Cars subforum here http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/forumdisplay.php?147-Project-Cars Nice ones to read http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?236276-Gold-Rush http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?241651-My-Super-Widebody-Aero-VVTi-Turbo-6sp-project http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?238484-SRD-Ridox-Single-Turbo-Project-Build http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?238479-Johnny-HKS-Twin-Build-thread http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?237277-Scott-M-s-Supra-Build-Thread There are many others, but these'll give you an overview. A few are self built like Ibrar's and Scott's.
