Advice on fitting custom intercooler pipe

I've recently got a custom pipe made to fit around the stock air box. When i got it i forgot to tell him to add a lip of some sort.

 

So i was wondering will it blow off if i connected the pipe up with the hoses and clip or should i use the hairspray trick?

You'll probably need to get a lip on it, little bead of weld round it will be enough for the clamps to grip.

My top pipes got no swaging on it and its fine but its held in place

with Mikalor hose clamps.

 

Try local engineering companies to see if they have a swaging tool

Okay so its not me just over thinking about it. I go and sort something out before i fit it on the car.

i got 1 pipe on the 1 side with no lip, Ive got a Mikalor clamp in it, Theres no chance of that blowing off ( i think) im tempted to curls the edges though, but as they say, if its not broken why fix it .

They will blow off.

Both off you need to sort that guys.

It's easy to do so get it sorted.
