SupraDan24
Here's a couple of photo's they're hard to see. In the second picture you can see the "S shaped pipe i believe to to be the 2nd Decat, attached to that towards the box end of the exhaust is the 2nd CAT. ashbuster
lol dont think thats normal is it? sure its a cat? or could it be some sort of sports cat
Josh
That looks all right. The pipe behind the backbox pipe looks like it should be part of the catback exhaust. Doesn't look like a normal 2nd decat. Looks like maybe some kind of aftermarket cat between the 2nd decat and catback exhaust.
ashbuster
so will he just replace both the cat and pipe with his new pipe
SupraDan24
2nd Photo This is what i gather it to be, starting from the top left of the photo, you can see the bottom of the downpipe, then appears to be the 2nd Decat pipe (it looks the same size and shape, albeit smaller OD, than the Whifbitz one i have), then theres the 2nd Cat, and then the CAT back exhaust. SupraDan24
so will he just replace both the cat and pipe with his new pipe Thats what i thought would happen, but my Whifbitz Decat pipe is the same length as the pipe thats already on it
Dnk
This is the second cat and the 1st cat bolted together, first cat in red. 1st decat pipe pic above and a 1 piece decat pipe below
ashbuster
Thats what i thought would happen, but my Whifbitz Decat pipe is the same length as the pipe thats already on it so that must be part of your exhaust mate, cat back you sure its a cat just wondering why there is a cat after your 2 decat pipes lol
SupraDan24
so that must be part of your exhaust mate, cat back you sure its a cat just wondering why there is a cat after your 2 decat pipes lol You and me both Ash and yes its definately a CAT. Here's a better shot of it. Pic1: From the left you've got the end of the 2nd Decat pipe, then the 2nd cat, then the start of the Cat back exhaust. The second photo shows what i think is the downpipe connecting to the other end of the 2nd Decat pipe, the downpipe is about a 45degree angle, and not straight like the first decat pipe is. It looks to me like it bolts straight to the manifold. Edited March 29, 2012 by SupraDan24 (see edit history)
Dnk
Easy enough to replace as its just 2 flanges and a straight tube required. It might be empty, my first cat on my car is the original cat pipe but with its internals removed
Nic
Looks like you have a single decat pipe that replaces the 2 stock cats, then after the decat pipe there is a custom cat - may be an aftermarket sports cat - and then the exhaust.
SupraDan24
The pipe that is on there is the same length and shape as my Whifbitz 2nd Decat pipe Nic so i dont think it replaces both cats ( i could be wrong though Nic as i have only offered them up and they seem the same length), the only difference in them is the OD. I think what they have done is bought a 2nd Decat pipe and used it too replace the first CAT instead of the 2nd, and kept the 2nd CAT instead, so they've mounted it further forward than they would have. Nic
Is the cat mounted where I've shown on the attach pic? Edited March 29, 2012 by Nic (see edit history)
SupraDan24
Nope, its the exact same as the stock one above it except the First CAT isnt there, and neither is the First decat pipe. I have my downpipe which connects straight to the 2nd Decat pipe, that then connects to the CAT, which then connects to the rest of the exhaust. ashbuster
its like a cat back exhaust with a cat at the start of it
SupraDan24
its like a cat back exhaust with a cat at the start of it Like a normal Cat back then
ashbuster
lol see im useless at explaining things. abit thick lol its like a cat back exhaust with the end cut off and a cat added one, so if the other cats were in place there would be 3 get it cut out mate and have a pipe welded in lol
SupraDan24
Lol i was only jokin mate Yeah, it is a bit weird. SupraDan24
Well i got my car up on my ramps yesterday to have a good look at the exhaust and to potentionally fit my 1st Decat. Once under there i can see that it looks like i already have a first Decat, and the 2nd but i still have a CAT in place I thought the first and second decat was supposed to reach straight from the downpipe to the Cat back exhuast. This is how it goes, First Decat - 2nd Decat - Aftermarket CAT - 2 hole to 4 hole X-over - Cat back exhaust
