Noz
Evening all. Took this video to try and grab my 0 to 60. Want a few opinions as it doesn't seem that impressive for the power I dyno'ed. Does this seem like 373bhp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsyMGtAsPm8
Graham1984
I have a NA so that looked like a fighter jet in comparison.
Guest MikeyTT
I'd say that pulled pretty well to 60mph, I'm sure it would keep accelerating at the same rate, which is what these cars are all about!
ripped_fear
She seems to pull very well mate, cant wait to have a ride I think the 0- 60 looks impressive
JamieP
Times at about 6 seconds from when you drop the clutch, gearing seems very low? only looked to do 20mph in first gear?
Nic
gearing seems very low? only looked to do 20mph in first gear? I thought the same, what gearbox and final drive does it have fitted? Even the W58 5spd should be able to hit 60mph before the red line in 2nd gear.
Noz
Start to loose traction in first so changed. I timed it around 5 seconds when I catch the video just right with a stop watch. Problem is, it should be sub 5 seconds with what Im running, trying to keep it around 4k it just feels bogged down. Too much negitive camber is reducing traction, need to have a few more runs I think. Need to try my slicks out.. Thought Id ask you guys first, as I don't want to say what I think I got, I'd rather say what the general idea seems to be.
Noz
I usually hit 60 while in 2nd, I did wonder why it hit redline so quick. Its a typical W58 standard diff, no lsd.
JamieP
Now you have TT power id try to get the gearing more like a TT, maybe look at different diff ratios, my car does 52mph in first, 85mph in second.
Noz
So you think the gearing is too short? Maybe worth looking into then. I know jekyl put a TT auto diff in to give a longer ratio for each gear, hitting 70mph in 2nd. would it be an idea to rev to 7200 instead of 6800, so the turbo is in boost more? I'd like an R154 in the next few months, I expect that's a similar ratio
JamieP
Yeah, change the diff and raise the rev limit, the longer gears will put more load on the turbo.
Colin-mkiv
Non turbo gearbox and diff are geared to help an NA car accelerate faster. This means you need to change gear more often and more efficiently to get similar 0-60 times as a factory TT....I think anyway.
Noz
I should be getting way better than an NA shifting effectively though?

You dumped the clutch in first gear at 4,000rpm, of course you are going to loose traction! Maybe do a longer video? Start without a hard launch. Noz
Best launch is at 4k, you need some loss of traction. best time i ever had when it was NA was launching at 4k.
