merckx
The best Concorde take-off that I've seen, obviously you need the sound turned on

johnny g
Love Concorde - became a bit of a Concorde anorak. Here's some of my favourites from YouTube xzzQMFieEvQ DI24LlxP-aE g1wHbLWSvlo
Hammer
That should be back in the sky. Used to pass over where we lived and was a thrill every time we saw it. Everyone knew it's timetable for passing over and tried to make sure they got to see it.
Soopra
i remember missing Eastenders because it always used to fly over when the program was on. Couldn't hear anything else for about 20 minutes!!
Gaz6002
I get pangs of sadness every time I see that plane. Grounding it permanently was the single-biggest step backwards in British engineering in the 20th century.
SupraStar 3000
I still keep wondering,... what if its secretly been restored to flying condition and will open the olympics. Of course it wont. Not in PC UK. We'd be better off spending 10million pounds on Timmy Mallet waving his willy about for 30minutes. Thats what the UK people want! Can't wait to see the Argentinian faces A fly past of Concorde with the Red Arrows would have been fantastic though, with the Reds being down to 8 aircraft, a Concorde in the middle of the V would have been spectacular. I'm of the opinion that we should have a british historic flight, which is made up of important types in our history including Concorde, a Harrier and an Empire flying boat. Definately seems like a lot of moving backwards with certain tech and not forwards.

Unfortunately, that's a product of society's greed. Why make progress when you can make money? Every country should have to make a contribution to the exploration and habitation of space, at some point in our future it's going to become necessary if our species is to survive. Putting it off is foolish.
johnny g
This is why people refer to "Concorde moments" these days. Our ability to step back from a technological/engineering peak rather than build on it. Concorde, Shuttle, Bugatti Veyron. Oddly, the I-Want-It-Now MTV Generation are losing that service and having bulk, slower carriers instead. I guess speed and exclusivity cost money that simply isn't there any more. Quite why Branson wasn't allowed to buy Concorde, I don't know.

Such a shame, we have the technology to produce so much, shame about the lack of money and overflow of politics.
