Hello :)

This is going out to all you autobox genuises out there where ever you are hiding :p

I know it's naughty but the question is actually more directed with a problem I have with a MK1 Aristo but have been told the autobox's are the same and apparently people on here a cleverarerererer.

I will try and keep the story short but here's the situation:-

Old gearbox dead! Kept dumping its oil - removed torque converter along with some metal shavings

Was apparently buying a MK1 autogearbox for top money which turned out to be a 1jz soarer box - took that back nothing like the one I needed

So then I found what looked like the same/right box but later found out it was actually from a MK2 Aristo

Anyway everything matched up except the for the plug on the NSR of the box - the one that goes to the solenoids in the box. MK1 was 8 pin / MK2 was 12pin

Didn't have time to mess around over the weekend, needed the car out the garage so put some oil in and hey presto car drove out but wouldn't change through the gears, low was low, 2nd was 2nd and D stayed in D. So if I tryed to pull away from lights in D it would seriously struggle and the OD light on the dash was flashing. Reverse was working perfectly.

Then I messed around with my old dead box, got the wiring loom out and fitted it to the new box, plugged the 8 pin plug into the MK2 box and this turned the OD light out and made D work normally up and down through the gears - was beautiful to drive

BUT no reverse, at all!!! Select reverse and nothing happens - Disconect the 8 pin plug from the gearbox and straight away reverse again, shitty D and OD light

Help!! lol

I don't mind messing around with wiring if someone can give me or point me towards wiring diagrams for either of box's

Thank you all for your time and help :D
