Thank you to so many people...where do I start?

Well, what started out as a bit of fun with an offer of £20 not to sell the VS bumper but to destroy it snowballed into the finale at Austec Racing today.

During the past 2 weeks or so I know I must have ticked off a lot of people with my constant bumping of threads and cajoling to buy tickets or make donations. For this I make no apologies as it was for such a great cause and it helped us raise a considerable amount of money and to promote what turned out to be a fantastic day.

And so the thanks - boy oh boy, where do I start? Firstly I would like to thank Heckler for setting up the burn a VS justgiving page. I would like to thank all the people who donated prizes to the raffle. A huge thank you goes to dude for suggesting and organising the dyno day. Big thanks go to Paul, the owner of Austec for allowing us to use his premises and not take a penny off our charity donations during the day. Also big thanks to dude's daughters Katie and Lauren for helping by selling raffle tickets and collecting the dyno money. I would like to say a big thank you to Ellis for introducing the event to Debbie Archer of Dixons and to Debbie herself for the wonderfully generous donation of prizes to the raffle. I want to thank mkivsupra.net for being tolerant and helpful in allowing me to organise the charity day etc and to sell tickets and take donations off the forum. I want to thank my son Josh for driving me up to the event and being my rock during the past couple of weeks when things were getting to me. And finally I want to thank every one of you who donated money, bought tickets and who turned up toady. Without you we would never have been as successful as we were.

How successful? Well, I am delighted to announce that the final total of donations, pledges, giftaid, raffle sales and dyno contributions come to a massive £4850!

But, it doesnt end there. Paul of Austec has said that whatever the shortfall was to us hitting £5000 he would make up and so, thats it - we have hit £5000!

I am now talking to Santander and I am 99% certain they will match fund what we collected and so the total cheque could well be £10,000.

Not too shabby eh?:D

The next Austec charity dyno day? Well, I am hoping to make this an annual event (gives me something to aim at as in my position you need a plan fir the future :D) but in the meantime I will be trying to organise other such events around the country.
