Graham1984
First of all excuse the poor explanation as I can't really describe what is wrong. I was out driving earlier with my Dad and for some reason the car felt like it had no power to accelerate (No NA jokes please) and the engine was running a bit lumpy although it would go the same speed it would barely accelerate at all and just struggle for a few moments. It almost felt a bit juddery like it would feel like if you were driving with a flat tyre. The other night my fuel was extremely low due to a main road being closed and me having to limp back to any garage and I wondered if I had dragged through some stodge and crap from the fuel tank causing this issue. The strange thing is that it would do it for a few seconds and then it would just not happen again for either a few hours or the rest of the day. I am certain the other night before the low fuel issue that it happened just before I got home and due to it being late and the rough roads I thought nothing of it. I checked everything possible that I could see exhaust blockage under the bonnet ect and I spotted one of the bolts on the inlet manifold was nearly all the way undone (Just above where the inlet valve is) so I tightened that up and took it for a spin and all seems well again. Has anybody had any issues like this before as it has me a bit stumped and I am hoping it was just the loose bolt effecting the airflow or something along them lines. Cheers guys and girls. Graham1984
Thanks Gaz I will try and engage my brain next time In my defence it is probably one of my only serious moments on here this month hence why I am so used to the off topic section. Swampy442
If you have an air leak its going to feel a bit flat, did you check the rest of the bolts? When was the last time you changed the dizzy cap/rotor arm?
Graham1984
I checked all the manifold bolts after that and they seemed fine, To be honest I was amazed as to how that one was so loose as it was just hanging on it's last bit of thread. No idea when the dizzy or rotor arm were changed as I have only had the car since September last year, I will have a look through the small amount of paperwork I have for the car and see if there is any sign they have been changed. I am hoping that it was just due to that bolt as my luck seems to be running low at the moment and I could do without the drama. Thanks for your reply though Swampy.
