GTR Fever Posted March 25, 2012 Share Posted March 25, 2012 (edited) hey guys, drove my car and noticed a slight misfire. knowing that the car is garaged alot, i figured the plugs needed cleaning. took out the one from no.6 cylinder and its completey coated in oil...top to bottom..even the coilpack has some oil on it..didnt take out any other spark plugs tho, just that one.. what can cause this? are my piston rings gone? thank you in advance PROBLEM FIXED....THANKS GUYS!! ashbuster Posted March 25, 2012 Share Posted March 25, 2012 exactly the same here, changed the plugs yesterday and 2 of the 6 plugs were covered in oil over the coilpacks too but im almost sure on mine its the cam cover as said above? ive nipped them all up now i forgot to do a couple last time Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

SupraD06 Posted March 25, 2012 Share Posted March 25, 2012 Im just about to start swapping my seals this morning, ive not checked the spark plugs yet, but ive got oil all down the side of my cam covers so theres a good chance ill find it in the spark plug wells. I ordered both seals from Paul Whiffin on here, think they are about £10 each. But ive also replaced all 16 washers that hold down the cam covers aswell, as these have rubber bases on them that make a tight seal, and they can also perish over time. GTR Fever Posted March 25, 2012 Author Share Posted March 25, 2012 oh ok...thanks guys but i have oil on the tip of the spark plug as well..the ENTIRE plug was covered in oil. also, car used to puff some smoke on cold start but it doesnt smoke at all anymore.. any1 i can order the cam cover seals from though? Was thinking I would have to tear apart the motor and build it over. where can I get those cam cover gaskets? Can't get them in Trinidad and don't know where to order them from. thanks again.
