mr two
As above please - i have found out that the nearside bonnet catch is not "clasping" the "loop"of the bonnet,,,therefore the nearside of the bonnet is tending to lift at speed...how can i fix it ?...the offside clicks onto the loop as it should but on the nearside i cannot see the part in the latch which holds the bonnet catch tight :o(
Geo
you sure its the actual catch? i had the same and i replaced the 2 release cables, and also the little white box that splits the cables to each latch.

merckx
Open the bonnet and push the shaft of a screwdriver down horizontally into the latch to see if it's working, obviously then pull the release. If it's working, check the screw in rubber bump stop which is adjustable. Things could also be out of allignment/adjustment if any repair works has been done on the front end of the car. The bonnet may click down if you give it a firmer push on that side ( don't dent it). I can feel the cable working though...seems like something is seized within the catch. How do i remove the catch to try and free it?

Had chance now to look at the catch again -it would appear that the catch IS working correctly....the bonnet just needs a harder push down on the N/S for the catch to "bite" :o)
