pbryant_knight
Hi All, Just a quick question, My Overdrive Off light on the dashboard keeps flasing when the Overdrive is on? Obviously it stays on when the Overdrive is off but does anyone have any idea why it could be flasing intermittantly when the O/D is on? Cheers Peter
Digsy
Check for fault codes. Sometimes a code 42 can trigger a flashing OD OFF light.
pbryant_knight
What is a code 42?
Digsy
Speed sensor error. Usially causes the malfunction light to come on too, though. Do a search on here for how to check the fault codes and post up if any are stored.

hodge
Usual cause is either a faulty speedo converter or speed sensor. Do a search there's hundreds of threads about it.
Robzki
Usual cause is either a faulty speedo converter or speed sensor. Do a search there's hundreds of threads about it. Although more than likely the buffer circuit in the odometer, splicing the 2 wires behind the odo usually solves it. Have a search to find the wire colours its all been discussed many times
hodge
This doesn't always work. A good quality speedo converter is the best option IMO.
pbryant_knight
Well i think my soulution will be to stick a piece of tape accross the light My speedo is still in KPH and instead of a converter i've bought a GPS digital speedo instead. Digsy
You haven't checked the fault codes yet have you? It takes about five minutes and all you need is short peice of wire. A search on here will give you the instructions how.
pbryant_knight
Nah, not yet. I'll wait until it comes out of the Bodyshop then take it to a friend that has a proper code reader.
