CarlT67
I have discovered a leak coming from the aft mating face between my turbo and manifold. I guess I need a new turbo gasket and to clean up and re torque the turbo down. My First question is what gasket do I need? Will it just be a t4 metal gasket? I have a Precision T67 on a Whifbitz non divided manifold. My Second question is what order do you disassemble the turbo to get to the bolts for the manifold? Looking at the bolts it looks impossible to get to the forward bolt closest to the engine block. Thanks Carl
Josh
A recent post from Dude said he's never used a gasket and never had an issue, if that helps
Swampy442
Have you checked the nuts are tight? I had a Soarer that used to blow from the turbo/exhaust flange. Turns out a nut kept coming loose
CarlT67
I'll try just cleaning up the surfaces. I can't remember, are they studs and nuts or loose bolts and nuts? If they are studs how do you access the forward inboard one, its hidden under the exhaust side and turbo?
Swampy442
It's studs from the manifold, the turbos mount on there and use nuts to secure them
CarlT67
So how much of the turbo do you have to dismantle to access the nuts on the base of the turbo? Do you remove the turbo from the exhaust housing and take that off separately?
