LOGIE
Ok so im another one doing the NA-TT convertion que the yawns, at the minute i have my eye on a TT engine for sale its off an Auto car and its a VVTI it comes with a wiring loom and an ECU and its for sale for £1000, the seller doesn't know about the milage and the ad is very vague. So my question(s) is...? Is there a down side to owning a VVTI engine as opposed to older engine? Is this priced well? Also is there any way you can tell an Aristo lump from a Supra one? Many thanks for your patience on my very amateur questions.
alex2jz
Fitting a VVTI 2JZ-GTE in a non-VVTI Supra and making everything run as it should requires a lot of work. Also, it is easier to modify a non-VVTi 2JZ. The Aristo lump has a front oil sump and is much more common, whilst the Supra lump has a rear oil sump and it's harder to get. alex2jz
thanks alex, so is it possible to buy an aristo engine then buy a supra sump and fit it? A shop in Hungary already has a modified sump that replaces the stock Aristo sump and converts it into a Supra one. Copy paste this into the search box on the website : Toyota Supra MK4 2JZ-GTE 2JZ-GE hátul összefolyós komplett olajteknő (házilag átalakított) http://www.tuningaruhaz.hu/site/site_main.php?id_horizontal_menu=1 I have the same problem, i find only Aristo 2JZ's for sale ...
