2jzEd
Like the title says i started noticing drips of oil. Took the No1 and No2 timing belt covers off and stuck a flashlight in there to see oil coming from around the oil relief valve bolt/nut. What's the best move i have already gotten the part numbers to order the parts that comprise of the relief valve i.e springs and o-ring etc. Is this a quick fix or should i replace my oil pump instead? Chris Wilson
Unless someone has over tightened the cap and cracked the pump housing (quite common....) a new O ring should fix it.

Andy Blyth
Just by looking at your photo, I'd say no. You're going to need to remove the water pump to undo the cap on the relief valve which means removing the cam belt and hence the crank pulley. Chris Wilson
Sorry, only just seen this. You need to remove the crank damper, and from memory, the water pump, too, but not 100% on whether there's enough clearance to get the cap off with the water pump still in situ. Getting the cap back on can be awkward, you need strong fingers as the relief valve spring is long and powerful. DO NOT cross thread it!! As the cam belt looks new there should be no problem getting the damper off.

2jzEd
Cam seals were the cause of my oil leak, not the relief valve. Did them while doing a timing belt change. Edited August 24, 2014 by 2jzEd (see edit history)
