redsupraman82
ok so starting to lose the love now, its just one thing after another... so i needed to change my rear brake pads, of which i have done before on my old supra. done the offside, no probs took 10 min, then i went to tackle the drivers side and i could not get the piston back in! so i had to remove the top part of the caliper to sort the piston out. finally got it back in, put the brake line back on and then went to tighten up my bleed nipple and SNAP! it broke off! (my own fault i know!) so now i have air in my brake system and the pedal is all soft! how do i get round this...i know im going to have to get hold of another j spec rear caliper as it will be easier than drilling that nipple out and retheading but i take it i will have to bleed the whole system now?? Please advise! [sHOCK][/sHOCK]

welshbuddy
if there is air in the system, dont you have to bleed the whole lot?.... i could be wrong ..

mellonman
with the damaged bleed nipple there is no piont you will get air back into the system, the nipple needs replacing which you could drill to almost the same size so then you can get whats left of the nipple out or just get another calipar for ease as at a gues the might be cheaper then the effort involved reparing old one
redsupraman82
thats what i thought, i wouldnt bleed the system with that damaged nipple anyway. so new caliper it is then! poo!
Ian C
You can clamp the hose (provided it's not braided) with mole grips when you swap the caliper, then you'll only have to rebleed that corner
