ellis
Scam. Ignore. Check in to PayPal through your normal route and I can guarantee its bogus. I get these all the time.
peter richards
could they have got the card number then when i did the holiday payment ?
ellis
Is there a little doc attached to double click? If so, definite scam. Just go to the normal http://www.paypal.com page, log in and see what's what there.
Abz
could they have got the card number then when i did the holiday payment ? Possible the timing is coincident, Thomas Cook will have a secure online payment method. I'd most likely check my paypal, though from another PC or computer (just in case the one you are using has a trojan virus on it).
peter richards
well i think i have a PP account but after problems years ago i dont use it , how do these things work then guys , as said it was a secure site i did the payment on .
Tyson
well i think i have a PP account but after problems years ago i dont use it , how do these things work then guys , as said it was a secure site i did the payment on . If a payment has been made from your PP account it will be registered in your history. So log on and if there is no transaction it is bogus so just ignore it, I get these from time to time what ever you do never open the attachments as they will most likely have a trojan or key logger virus in them. Paypal will never send you attachments only conformation emails of payments from your account. If in doubt check your account and ring PP if you are still unsure. If you don't use it then close the account.

The-Plethora
Not sure if its related but my folks have been moaning at me for days now saying the thomas cook website is down (yeah? what can I do about it?) so I would say proceed with caution at the moment, I had assumed TC was going down the toilet as it was in trouble not long ago. Tyson
how many email adresses do you have? If you only use one (thats what your username will be)then you can just tell them you forgot your password and they will email you a new one.

peter richards
no ,this is probably due to a huge fxxx up by PP years ago , so no online banking , just dont trust it . tried to access PP with my e mail addy and it doesnt work , so the account was with an old e mail been gone for over a year as i lost it when we moved house , did the phone thingy and got a 4 digit nimber but when i put it into the link they sent to this e mail it didnt work
john88
Also check how the e-mail addresses you. Paypal will only ever address you by name, All scam e-mails will address you as 'paypal user', 'paypal customer', 'sir/madam' ect.. I get about 3 or 4 a day through work

Hellstrom
Its obviously a scam, if you got a mail to your regular mail acount but you dont have the mail registrated on paypal. So there is no paypal account bound to your current mail acount
