TopgunTT
Hi guys, Just wondering what you would pay for some topsoil. I have been ringing around locally and the lowest i can get it delivered is £75 for a 1 ton bulk bag. I never knew it was so expensive? Works out cheaper delivered loose and tipped on the drive. Might have to go down that road.
plus1
Get it loose and you should pay around £15/ton for grade 2 minimum of 3 tons, or for 10 tons down to around £12/ ton. Ian

TopgunTT
I want it just to bring the back garden back up to level again. Last time it was done when i bought the house 9 years ago and it was a new build, It just seems to have sunk quite badly in places over the years. Everyone in Somerset seems to be so expensive? Don't know if i am looking at the wrong type or what? 10mm Screened is what i have been searching for, Should i be going for something different. Dnk
1 Ton of top soil wont go very far
safcdixon
It will be cheaper going to a quarry dude and agreeing a "cash" price, with them in person, as dunk says a ton doesnt go far at all, when we used too go too the quarry in my last job it was about £7 quid a ton, but we were collecting and paying cash, and its a total pain shoveling out of the bulk dumpy bags. plus1
Work out the volume needed in meters cubed and double it for tonnes.

The best i can get locally delivered is 1.5 ton for £100 and that is loose. Just seems so much?
keener
I bought a 1 tonne bag for about £70 in January. And yes, it really doesn't go far when spread out - I should have got 2!
