DamanC
That said, the 996 Turbo sill seems a good bet. SL55 AMG BMW M6 Aston V8 Vantage Porsche 996 Turbo Audi RS4 & RS6 Jag XKR All seem to be prone to serious and expensive problems at realtively low miles. What is a modern equivalent to the Supra as none of the "similar" cars are in the same class. H. The V8 Vantage is quite "Suprary". Its not very quick mind. You know my thoughts on what to choose in that list although if you wanted an estate the RS6 is rather awesome.
jonathanc
Nothing wrong with that, unless you buy new! I've learnt my lesson and never bought new since the Renault... To be frank some used cars are as good as new but with someone else taking the first depreciation hit!

Buying new works in some situations, but there's no denying you get a LOT more for your money buying second hand.
Abz
Well the R8 interior is definitely better than the GTRs and that V10 howl is to die for! Never driven one on the road yet so I will reserve my judgement. I would definitely have the McLaren if I can afford it lol. Being a bit of a geek tech cars are a big hit with me. The fezza looks nice too... You think so? From what I mentioned earlier about the weekend we had both the R8 and the Q7, jumping between both cars the R8 interior felt more Audi A4, £30k car like then the £80k it is supposed to be. Infact the Q7 interior seemed a bit nicer than it, well they all looked the same!
tooquicktostop
I brought a T reg E55 AMG for £2400, a massive amount of car and fun for the money, very quick and comfortable, I loved it. Understand the build quality issues but a great engine

I had a 740i BMW as well for a while again a cheap buy, I loved the way that car went down the road but not a patch on the AMG

I have to agree the interior of the R8 is boring (and the Gallardo the same...) but at least it is well built lol. Our Q7 is abused daily and no squeaks whatsoever. I guess no one does interior like ze Germans!

Miguel
V10 M5 going strong here - no issues. You still got it then I bumped into the guy that bought mine the other day and it's still going like a champ. He put a nice pipe on it now and it sounded devilish as he tore off.
