took car out for the first time , on the first run round the block i thought it hit 1.1 bar and it felt real rapid and a handfull to keep in a straight line , after checking everything ok and getting an MOT went for a longer run , booted it and thought this doesnt feel as quick , looked at the peak hold on the boost guage it was .8 bar , checked on the hoses etc went out again long straight road escort rs turbo tried to play , redlined second using the manu setting , pulled over looked at peak boost and it was 1 bar , the car is fully de-catted with a 2.5 inch pipe that i got from monkeymark (he took it off cause he was overboosting ) and a big exhaust , i was expecting at least 1.2 bar maybe more , do i have a problem ???, by the way the rs turbo was despatched in the appropriate manner .

i have a j spec with cw de cat pipes and a blitz nur spec r i could only hit 1 bar checked all hoses etc but all were ok so i fitted a bleed valve now hitting 1.2 bar i doubt theres anything wrong with youre car they all seam to react differently after a de cat remember getting boost up is a piece of cake holding it down is much harder .

Ummm.... there are 2 pipes in the CW decat kit. Do you have CW pipes or another kit?

Was the above a slip and you meant 2x 2.5" pipes.

Sorry to split hair's over it but if you've only pulled out 1 cat it would explain it. :)

fair enough.

didn't know whiffin made any... or is it an Apexi one?

Anyway....taking the cats out is enough...you don't need the 3" as even on hybrids the zaust won't be that restricted.

Best to use a Boost Controller for the rest. You're in a fortunate position....some of us struggle to nail the boost down!

hi john

glad you got car up n running. when i had the pipe fitted for about 1 month. i was hitting 1.5 bar racing a porsche. skyline lee was in car with me. you do notice the slight increase in power. it was great at 1.5bar but dangerous at the same time. it had a good kick when you put your foot down.

i have blitz nurspec and cw pipes and can still hit up to 1.4 bar. will have to see how it runs when i get it all back together.

see if fmic brings temps down.

i would have thought you should hit 1.4bar easy with no cats and big exhaust.

you wont know what a stock supra drives like with standard intercooler. could it be something to do with the big fmic you have.

have you got a fuel cut defender in car?

when i fitted just exhaust i was hitting fuel cut scary when you dont know what it is, it happend when you booted car. but if you took it steady and built speed up it did not happen.

best to get it fitted.

any news on my bits? thinking about getting a greddy oil catch can $83

what hybrids you going for?

stripped all my pipes down to turbo to polish. got to turbo then thought i best stop.blades on front turbo look ok. dont know if its the first or second turbo.

Mark , was expecting your cam covers to turn up this morning but they didnt , guess the guy may have lost them (joke) , spark plug all done and waiting , you notice the chameleon effect a lot more outside (and it was overcast) , will send off as soon as i get them back .
