Guest Ventura
Hi all . I have just started my supra owning journey with a 93 uk spec rz . It has a single turbo conversion and a few issues to say the least ! It has an annoying oil return pipe leak wich is first thing on the list to fix. I have had it looked at localy by a specialist who was a bit confused by how it was all plumbed in , he was most surprised to find the HKS Fcon 5 piggy back ecu unplugged in the boot . Car is booked in for a day with him to diagnose exactly what is going on with the car and see if he can work out why Ecu is unplugged etc. Car reg is L464 OUM , and if anybody has any history on the car I would greatly appreciate it ie exactly what's been done the more we look , the more we find . Cheers , Chris.
tony tt
Welcome Chris. What specialist in Suffolk has the car? I use to live there and never used any garages in that area for my car. Supraloopy (Dave Whittle services) Is in Southend on sea and really knows his stuff. He would be the closest guy i would trust to Suffolk anyway. You got pics? We like pics dude! Guest Ventura
we have yet to find out , claimed 500 from previous owner but no proof , currently the hks piggy back ecu is in the boot unplugged so everything has been shut down to low levels until it can be properly set up and dynoed again. please feel free to identify any parts you recognise as is all a learning experience for me atm. Guest Ventura
its entirely possible that the original single turbo blew or was removed and replaced by this one before it went to the guy i traded with hence the unplugged management system. It also appears that the greedy boost controller is just conected to the power steering for the purpose of stiffening the steering at high boost . The only thing actually regulating boost atm seems to be the waste gate. with all the in mind the guy that is going to look at it for me turned the boost right down until he can see what exactly has been done and what systems are active or dormant etc the turbo is a garret but unsure of which one at the momment . will update with all parts and spec as soon as its all been looked at.
